In today’s competitive industries, consistent quality and customer satisfaction are critical. Statistical Process Control (SPC) provides a practical way to manage variation, and control charts are one of its most powerful tools. This paper reviews their development, types, and uses in real-world settings. Control charts are grouped into variable charts () and attribute charts , helping companies distinguish between normal variation and serious process issues. Case studies show their benefits: in manufacturing, charts detect machine wear early to reduce downtime, while in healthcare, p-charts improve monitoring of infection rates. By offering real-time feedback, they prevent costly problems and guide corrective action. Control charts also support continuous improvement methods like Lean, Six Sigma, and TQM. With Industry 4.0, their integration with IoT and predictive analytics is expanding, making them a modern “quality compass” that helps businesses stay efficient, reliable, and competitive.
